Now, after the management stuff, Steve Jacobs has asked me to add this message about the Rally and Picnic
I hope that you will be able to join us for our annual rally weekend. It is truly the one weekend that we can all gather to share our interest and see these lovely cars in action, and as we now combine it with our Sunday gathering of all our sister Triumph and Standard clubs, it’s a wonderful opportunity
to show off the strength of our club and the beauty of the models that we would all describe as “proper” Triumph cars!
As you will have read in your favourite magazine, we are again at the Woodland Grange Hotel and Conference Centre, Leamington Spa. It’s a very easy to find location, has lovely facilities, good food, attractive grounds and their booking line is open to take your reservation. Please call them as soon as you can – we have a commitment to fill a number of rooms and I worry until we have met it.
The format of the weekend will be as the past couple of years, with the hotel making their facilities available to us on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Saturday will be our official club day which includes our AGM, our prize giving and culminates in our gala dinner in the evening in our private dining room. Sunday is the day we welcome the wider Triumph and Standard world on a (hopefully) sunny day for the annual picnic. We have organised local musicians who will provide some lunch time entertainment, we will have our tombola to help swell club funds and we will be running a coffee and cake stall. Donations of prizes for the tombola will be greatly appreciated, but even more so, the presentation of a bit of home baking (cake, scones, etc) to support the “refreshment vendors”.
Of course, both days are enhanced if we don some period garb and liquid prizes for the best turned out are always well received!
So, please come along. If possible, give your Triumph an airing, but, even if you can’t, join us in your modern car. There are so many loyal and valuable members that we, as a committee, don’t know and it would be so nice to put your face to a name on the membership list.
Kind regards to all.
Steve Jacobs
