Twelve model – 1939 to 1940

A 1939/40 Twelve Saloon

Twelve – 1939 to 1940, 11.81 h.p. 1,496cc 64-cylinder, single S.U. carburettor, overhead valve engine with 4-speed synchromesh gearbox.

This was Triumph’s last model before the war. It is conventional in appearance (especially when compared with the Dolomites) with a radiator grille very similar to a SS Jaguar. It was also the only Triumph to be offered with steel wheels. It was priced at £285 and we estimate that no more than 65 were produced. We have recorded 20 with 2 surviving, retaining their original style bodywork.
