A 1936/7 Continental 2 Litre Saloon
Continental – 1936 to 1937, 15.72 h.p. 1,991cc 6-cylinder, twin S.U. carburettor, overhead valve engine with 4-speed synchromesh gearbox.
This model is mechanically and bodily the same as the Dolomite 2-Litre Saloon produced at the same time. The only difference is that it is fitted with the more conventional Vitesse style radiator grille to please the more conservative customers who were not keen on the Dolomite’s flamboyant ‘waterfall’ grille. It was priced at £368 (the same as the Dolomite). We have recorded 24 with 4 surviving, retaining their original style bodywork. No official records have been seen to confirm that Triumph also offered a 4-cylinder Continental, but one has been recorded, this may have been made to special order.
