East Anglia Regional Lunch – 15/10/2017
Cecil Willcocks, Regional Rep for the East Anglian region of the Pre-1940 Triumph Motor club organised a splendid lunch for members and wives/partners at the 15TH Century Queen’s Head pub, in Hawkedon, south of Bury St Edmunds. Carol was over in Strasbourg for the weekend, presumably getting Brexit sorted out. She was missed.
4 pre-1940 Triumph cars and the one Triumph van brought their proud owners to the event. Some 22 people enjoyed the lunch and conviviality on an October day when the weather could not be bettered.
Chairman David Mason with Cynthia and Editor Steve Jacobs with Sharon joined the party (from Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire respectively), to enjoy some East Anglian hospitality.
The Chairman remarked it was good to see some young blood attending in the personae of Adam and Sam Bennett, and also pleased that member Karl Ludvigsen joined us pre-lunch, with his Dolomite saloon. Karl is a collector of many automobilia photographs, many of which he has shared with Graham our archivist.
Regional meetings, such as this help bind the club together and it is suggested that other regions with a reasonable density of membership try the same. A lunch could of course be eaten in an hour, but such was the camaraderie on this occasion that it was three hours before participants started their journey home.
