Dear Members
In the early Spring this year I received a call from John, our Chairman, saying that he was reluctantly having to relinquish his chairmanship due to an increased workload. I fully understood his predicament, as in the past I have been in a similar situation until IO managed to escape “the treadmill”.
John subsequently wondered if I would be interested in being nominated as his successor. After ‘sleeping on it’ for a couple of days, I decided in the affirmative for the following reason: –
The PNTMC Management Committee working together always achieve tremendous results during the course of the year. Organising our presence at the Annual Rally, Beaulieu and the NEC. In addition the publication of the bi-monthly magazine (recently enlarged to a 36 page format) reflects the fact that for a vintage/Post Vintage Motor Club, we are ‘punching well above our weight’.
Secondly, the quality of workmanship of Pre-war Triumph motor cars is certainly on a par with other much more expensive marques and it is always satisfying to be associated with the cars and their owners.
last, but not least, my late father was a club member from 1980 and for many years the Club gave great pleasure to both of my parents. To sum it up, I feel humbled and honoured to take over the role of Chairman of the Pre-1940 Triumph Motor Club.
