1939 Triumph Dolomite Roadster Coupe 14/65

Triumph Dolomite Roadster Coupe 14/65

1939, 1767cc

This rare car has just come up for sale from long-term ownership, and is being sold on behalf of the owner. This four cylinder car is one of thirteen survivors known to the club so is of historical significance. The car has not run for at least five years and has been stored in a dry garage. It will need some simple re-conditioning to bring it back onto the road. However the car is known to the Pre1940 Triumph Motor Club and they can confirm that it has been well looked after in the past.

It is in excellent mechanical condition and has been running again prior to sale. It will need a comprehensive service, battery and tyres including a full re-greasing of key parts. The engine starts easily on the starter motor and idles consistently.

On inspection the bodywork is structurally sound with no obvious rust or damage. The paint and chrome are tired and, whilst not necessary to enjoy the car, will need attention if the car is to be brought up to show condition. The canvass of the hood is in incredible condition and may not have seen much use. The seats will need reconditioning and the rear, dicky, seat is missing its base.

This car is a real head-turner and attracts attention. It is known to be reliable and has been well cared for over an extended period so would make a good purchase to enjoy, as the current owner has done.

The sale is being managed by Diane Sumpter, Downs Solicitors 01306 880110 ( d.sumpter@downslaw.co.uk ) who will discuss viewings and details of the sale. Offers around £25,000 are being invited as suggested by the club. For further information on its current condition contact Nick Willmore – drnickwillmore@gmail.com
