1935 Triumph Gloria 2 Litre Vitesse
This car is one of only seven Triumph Gloria Six Vitesse Saloons built between September 1934 and August 1935 known to survive with their original style bodywork. Six of these cars remain in the UK, with the other in Switzerland.
The engine is a Coventry Climax 6cyl 1991cc 16.6hp, with overhead inlet and side exhaust valves. Being a sports saloon, this car cost approx £385 when new, and was very well equipped for its time, including hydraulic brakes, built in jacks, central greasing system, reversing light, and a freewheel. It also has a Startix system which automatically restarts the engine if it stalls.
This car was fully restored in the late 90’s and still turns heads wherever it goes.
This can be seen at the NEC Classic Car Show in November on the Pre-1940 Triumph Motor Club stand in Hall 4, where it has been exhibited for the last seven years.
Reluctant sale due to marriage breakdown – £35,000.
